Joining SFSoc

At the time I had never actually joined SFSoc. This was on account of not ever having been a student of Edinburgh University and not having any money. Since all the society mostly did was meet in a pub (well all I did, anyway) it didn't seem worth forking out the extra for a non-student membership. In '95-96, though, I was a student (through an accident involving a Training For Work scheme) and so I felt obliged to actually join. It didn't made any difference.
